The Victoria & Albert museum in London holds until the next 26th of September the exhibition: "Grace Kelly: Style Icon". There you can contemplate some of the princess' most famous outfits. She was one of the most photographed women of the XX century and even the infamous Hermès bag "Kelly" was named after her.

A pale pink shirtwaist dress stands out from the rest of the outfits. It is made of gold enriched silk. The full skirt and the Peter Pan neckline together with the ¾ sleeves and the bright polka dots’ fabric, confer it an innocent allure. The thin matching belt enhanced her wasp waist. It is a fairy tale dress made for a Hollywood princess. That apparently simple outfit emphasized Grace Kelly’s American style. She wore it the day her then husband-to-be, Rainier III, visited Philadelphia to meet her parents. She looked radiant: a happy smile on her face and a real prince charming next to her. I couldn’t help but shivering in front of that picture. It is the vivid portrait of happiness.

Her wardrobe was extremely glamorous, a requirement of her role as a Princess, even though the exhibition also shows some of her dresses from her Hollywood star times. It is recommended to book in advanced.

En la misma se pueden contemplar docenas de los vestidos que formaban el armario de una de las mujeres más fotografiadas del siglo XX. Después de todo es por ella por lo que el bolso Kelly de Hermès se llama así.

Una vestido camisero rosa pálido sobresale del resto de los modelos. Está hecho de seda enriquecida, la calidad del tejido se puede ver incluso a través del cristal. La falda con vuelo y el cuello de Peter Pan, junto con las mangas tres cuartos y el sobrio estampado de lunares, prácticamente inapreciable, le dan un encanto inocente. El cinturón estrecho a la altura de la cintura enfatiza la perfecta silueta de la actriz. Es un vestido de un cuento de hadas hecho para una princesa de Hollywood. El vestido deja patente su inequívoco estilo americano. Ella llevó ese vestido el día que su futuro marido, Rainiero de Mónaco, viajó a Filadelfia para conocer a sus padres. En la foto se ve que ella estaba radiante: una sonrisa en su cara y un príncipe de verdad a su lado. No pude evitar sentir escalofríos frente a esa foto. Es el vivo retrato de la felicidad.

Edinburgh Festival

The place to be until the next 5th of September: Edinburgh festival. The good thing about being so busy doing a travel magazine is that you get stressed traveling and not in inside your office. Been to the Edinburgh festival. You HAVE TO go there. Amazing atmosphere. Great city. Art everywhere. I'm officially in love.

El lugar para estar: Edimburgo. Hasta el próximo 5 de Septiembre la ciudad acoge su festival internacional. Lo bueno de estar estresada haciendo una revista de viajes es que por lo menos el estrés me coge de viaje y no metida en una oficina. Si podéis, id a Edimburgo. Un ambiente increíble. Una gran ciudad. Arte por todas partes. Creo que me he enamorado, oficialmente.

The Chap Olympiad, in Bloomsbury Gardens (London) is one of the best events of the summer to spot vintage clothing at its best. If you come to the city, make sure you don't miss it! If you are not fan of sports do not worry, this Olympiad is precisely meant for those. Ridiculous contests like the Cucumber Sandwich Discus or the Tug of Hair are probably the funniest sport events you could ever attend to and make a clear statement: everything but sports matters here. It normally takes place at the end of July. Organized by Chap Magazine, it is an event based on the charm of the English gentlemen.

Las Chap Olympiad, en los jardines de Bloomsbury en Londres es uno de los mejores eventos del verano para fichar los mejores looks vintage. Si vienes a Londres, asegúrate de no perdértelo. Y si los deportes no te importan, más aún, pues en esta Olimpiada lo que menos cuenta es precisamente eso, el deporte. Competiciones tan absurdas como el lanzamiento de sandwiches de pepino o quién hace el mejor cóctel de Martini lo dejan claro. Normalmente se celebra a finales de Julio y está organizado por la revista Chap.
